Paua Shell Cotton Sarong, Scarf

My father used to polish Paua Shells and create beautiful jewellery, and home decor items from them years ago when I was a little girl living in New Zealand. This print is created from macro photographs that I took of two book-ends that he made for me.

  • The short edges are frayed for approximately 1cm, giving it a boho look – they will not keep fraying.
  • It can be worn many different ways including: scarf, sarong, shawl, turban, bandana.
  • Occasions: casual-chic wear, holidays, beach, parties, plays, formal occasions, and outings.
  • Please note, the colours in this scarf may appear slightly different on your computer.

The Paua or Abalone is a native shell of New Zealand.  Found near the seaside, this wonder of nature has a hard off-white lime scale coating which disguises its immense beauty beneath.  Each shell is one-of-a-kind and houses its own unique version of iridescent colours of blues, greens, yellows and pinks.  Colours, which due to the nature of the shell’s surface, change when viewed from different angles.

You too are one-of-a-kind… like the patterned splendour of each Paua Shell
you are unique and free to be your most glorious you!
