Born in Zimbabwe and brought up in Africa and Australia, Doulene has been exposed to art in many forms from a very early age.
Her true love is abstract artwork using a variety of mediums, including watercolours, acrylics, pastels, graphite and ink. Her abstract art requires that she trusts her intuition and lets go, adding texture, free flowing layers of colour, spontaneous movements, techniques and tools.
"Mark making" features heavily her work, from organic, abstract, spontaneous mark making, to more structured patterns.
